Been a while since I updated the page…

I have a sinus infection or an ear infection or something. I’m currently our nation’s number one producer of mucous. I’ve gone through nearly an entire roll of toilet paper today just blowing my nose. Moo. This sucks. Moo.

In better news, the Boston GNOME Summit went off suprisingly well. It was nice to see a lot of the GNOME folks; I hadn’t seen many of them in a while since I didn’t go to GUADEC this year.

I think a lot of very positive work was done while we were there, but I can’t help but be a little disappointed that there wasn’t as much active hacking going on as I would have liked. This is largely due to the way the whole thing was scheduled. We were so worried about having too many people for the rooms that we felt we had to schedule a number of things at one time to spread out the people and have something going on all the time, or else we’d have eighty people trying to fill a room which can only hold forty. This kept people out of the hacking room… oh well. For the next one, we’ll have more space.

There’s been a lot of debate on our little local mailing list about the potential smoking ban in bars in Cambridge. The division is largely split between smokers and non-smokers, although I am definitely with the smokers on this one. I tend to visit the places I do because of the people and the atmosphere, and banning smoking will effectively ruin that atmosphere. The only people who really ought to have a say in the matter, in my opinion, are the people who work there and have to deal with the smoke for a full shift every day. I dunno, I’d hate to have to stop going to Charlie’s because it started to suck.

Blue Crush looks so awesome.
