In July 2004 my parents and I took a trip to Ireland. We flew from Boston to Dublin on Aer Lingus. The flight was about six hours.
We spent the first two days in Dublin, doing things tourists would do: taking tours, walking around the Temple Bar area and Trinity College, going to the cathedrals and the Guinness Storehouse.
After that we took the train to a town called Carrick-on-Shannon where we rented a boat and took it down the River Shannon for the next 4 days. Yes, we lived in the boat. We went up and down a fair chunk of the river, stopping in little villages for food, drink (Guinness), and just looking around. Everyone we met was quite friendly and happy if not eager to strike up a conversation.
I took a lot of photos. About 500. Most of them are terrible. Here are some of the less bad ones, and some of them are good.
