it’s a show dog. with papers.

Beagle 0.0.10 is finally out. It’s the first version sans D-BUS, so it should be substantially easier to get up and running for most people. I’m very excited by this release. Several times now I have let the indexer run overnight on my tremendous corpus of data and been very pleased with the results. With mono 1.1.7, indexing is very, very fast. We’ve seen a 2.5x speed up in indexing with it.

Meanwhile, Seb Payne has created some Flash demos of Beagle and Tomboy, in a similar vein to Nat’s. These are definitely the best way to get a feel for how Beagle works, especially the Live Query functionality.

With the help of some contributors, Garrett has updated the Beagle logo to look more like an actual beagle. We haven’t put it up yet, but I like the results so far.
