Beagle 0.2.0 is released unto the world. This version features our brand new search tool, codenamed Holmes.

This is what’s grown out of our earlier mockups. We still have a little work to do yet, but I am very happy with the new UI. It’s a major improvement over the old HTML-based UI named Best. And, it drops the gecko-sharp and Mozilla dependencies, making it quite a bit easier to build.
This version also fixes a few big bugs: previous versions would sometimes leave temporary files around in /tmp. This bug was very tricky to track down, but it’s squashed. A lot of improvements to reduce the amount of memory we use have gone in. Many filters have been enhanced to return better search results, and the C and Python bindings become more and more complete and easy to use with each release. I think this is our best release yet, and it’s such an improvement that I felt it was worthy of bumping it to 0.2.0.
