The rains finally stopped here and it turns out that late spring in Boston is pretty nice. This happens every year — the torrential rains (although usually not this late and usually not this much) give way to a few weeks of truly nice weather before the oppressive heat rolls in.

I spent a good portion of my day yesterday grilling on my deck. I had a nice little housewarming party at my new place, about which I will have to post later, and although we were a little short on alcohol thanks to lame blue laws still on the state books, a good time was had by many.

I didn’t take any photos of the party itself, but Brette posted some photos of the condo on her Flickr. Notably absent is my office, which is still a complete disaster, with boxes, cabling, and computers everywhere.
Also, last week the participants in Beagle’s Summer of Code were announced. We got a lot of good applications and only five slots, so choosing was very, very difficult. The students’ blogs have all been added to Planet Beagle, so everyone will be able to follow their progress through the summer. This is a great initiative and I’m grateful that Google sponsors it.

Speaking of which, one of the students, Dennis Snell, is asking other developers of Mono software what they’d like to see in terms of visualizations from the heap-buddy tool. Dennis is working on reducing the memory footprint of Beagle, and the bulk of his work will be in improving tools to do that sort of analysis which should help all Mono application developers.
