Another great SLED review, this one all about Beagle:
Beagle has been showing up slowly around the place, but nowhere as impressively as Suse Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 (SLED10). When they say “integrated” search at Novell, they really mean it.

Novell has a great support contract on its laptops. I called late on Friday about the fan problem (and also my incredibly dim screen) and they just finished fixing it about 20 minutes ago. That means that it took roughly six and a half business hours to fix. That’s some good service.

fan error

My laptop appears to be dead. Whenever I turn it (a ThinkPad T42p) on, I get a “Fan error” message and it immediately turns itself back off. It was working fine (suspending/resuming) before, so I get the feeling it’s either lying to me or that it runs fine without a fan. [...]
